Women's college basketball stars Aziaha James, Flau'Jae Johnson, and more will take the court on Friday night as the LSU Tigers and the NC State Wolfpack meet in the Sweet 16 to vie for a spot in the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.
The top-10 matchup isn't the first time that these two teams have met this season, the Tigers having defeated the Wolfpack in a non-conference matchup in November. Now, the ACC and SEC squads will brawl in the third-round game of the NCAA Tournament.

LSU vs. NC State series history
The first time these two programs met on a basketball court was just over 10 years ago, and the Tigers walked away with the victory. Since then, LSU has won two more matchups and the Wolfpack has secured just one win.
With the 3-1 overall record advantage against NC State, LSU doesn't have quite as much to fight for, other than the fact that it's a win-or-go-home game. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack is fighting to take a step towards evening the series history as well as a spot in the Elite Eight.
LSU vs. NC State women's basketball prediction
Throughout the regular season, LSU dropped some big-time games, losing to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and twice to the Texas Longhorns. However, the Tigers have lost just five games so far, one game better than the Wolfpack.
lsu vs. nc st. 75. 2272. Prediction. 77. 529
I expect this game to come down to the wire as the two high-powered offenses juke it out throughout regulation. I even think it could be possible for the game to head into overtime, something fans have seen in the women's tournament much more often than the men's this postseason.
