As we head to 2026 in the College Basketball season, we look at the teams that can light up the scoreboard.
Top 5 Offenses in College Basketball Heading Into Conference Play
Here are the top 5 in college basketball:
5. Baylor Bears (95.6 points per game)
Baylor has quietly surged into the national scoring elite. Scott Drew’s group has scored at least 91 points in six straight wins and continues to look more comfortable pushing tempo. Freshman Tounde Yessoufou recently poured in 28 points, while Cameron Carr has emerged as the primary offensive engine at 21.3 points per game.
The challenge level rises quickly. Baylor opens Big 12 play at TCU and faces Iowa State, Houston, Kansas, and Texas Tech before January 21. The Bears’ offensive consistency will be tested immediately.
4. Texas A&M Aggies (96.2 points per game)
Texas A&M has leaned fully into pace and volume scoring. Since their most recent loss, the Aggies have scored at least 111 points in three straight games and have topped 100 points six times this season. The production has come from multiple lineups and rotations.
Ruben Dominguez leads the team at 13.7 points per game while playing under 24 minutes a night, a clear sign of offensive balance. A home matchup with LSU followed by a road trip to Auburn will offer a clearer picture of how sustainable this scoring rate is in SEC play.
3. Michigan Wolverines (96.8 points per game)
Dusty May’s offense continues to overwhelm opponents. Michigan has scored 100 or more points in six of its last seven games, including a 112-point performance in a blowout win over McNeese. Even in Big Ten action, the Wolverines have reached 101 points in back-to-back games.
Yaxel Lendeborg leads the attack at 15.7 points per game, but this is a system built on movement and shot quality. Michigan faces a meaningful stretch with USC, Penn State, and Wisconsin all coming up in short order.
2. Akron Zips (97.1 points per game)
John Groce has built another elite MAC offense. Akron is averaging 97.1 points per game and is trending upward after a 115-point outburst in its most recent win. Tavari Johnson has been outstanding, scoring 20.5 points per game and consistently creating offense late in the shot clock.
Even in losses, the Zips have scored at a high level, including a 100-point effort in a defeat to Murray State. Akron looks to keep rolling against Miami (OH), one of the few remaining unbeaten teams in Division I.
1. Georgia Bulldogs (99.0 points per game)
Georgia has been one of the biggest offensive surprises in the country. The Bulldogs are 12-1 and nearly averaging 100 points per game. Even in their lone loss to Clemson, Georgia scored 94 points, reinforcing how difficult this offense is to slow down.
Jeremiah Wilkinson leads the team at 17.3 points per game while playing just 22 minutes per contest, highlighting the Bulldogs’ depth and efficiency. Georgia hosts Auburn next in what will be a major early SEC measuring stick.
Elite Offenses
Elite offense changes games quickly, and every team on this list has shown the ability to flip momentum in minutes. They score in transition, execute in the half court, and respond immediately to pressure. As conference play tightens margins and limits mistakes, these offenses stand out because they do not rely on perfect conditions to produce points. That versatility is what makes them especially dangerous when games matter most.
