Predictions: Colorado at Arizona

To say that it will be hard for tonight’s college basketball action to live up to the expectations set by the three big games last night would be quite the understatement.

While Austin Rivers got most of attention for this shot, Georgetown took Syracuse to overtime and Kansas routed Baylor.

The Pac-12 is the focus of two of our three predictions for tonight, and we start with Colorado visiting Arizona.

Colorado (16-7. 8-3) at Arizona (16-8. 7-4) – 9 PM ET, ESPN

Jamal Murphy – Coming off two solid league road wins, the Wildcats return home to face a somewhat surprising Colorado squad that has put themselves at least on the periphery of the bubble discussion. Arizona is barely in that discussion, in their own right. Like the rest of the Pac-12, Zona has been inconsistent and is largely unproven.

Colorado has come on of late, winning five of their last six games, including a one-point victory in their first meeting with the Wildcats last month. Believe it or not, the Buffaloes are actually sitting in 2nd place in the Pac-12, one game behind Washington and a game ahead of Arizona.

Look for Zona to build on the momentum from their recent road trip and begin a post-season push.

Prediction: Arizona 71, Colorado 64

Blake Lovell – If the Pac-12 were getting a lot of publicity this year, then you’d certainly know about Colorado. They’re currently tied for second in the Pac-12 with California after most people (including myself) picked them towards the bottom of the league before the season.

As for Arizona, they’ve been disappointing overall but have won four of six. Their wins at Cal and Stanford were particularly impressive, so they have some momentum heading into this one. The Buffaloes won the last meeting in Boulder, but I think the Wildcats get revenge here and stay in the thick of things in the Pac-12.

Prediction: Arizona 73, Colorado 67
