The #3 Georgetown Hoyas took care of their first opponent Belmont in their opening game. The Belmont Bruins were picked to be a potential bracket buster but they fell short of competing with Georgetown in this game by a score of 74-59.

The Hoyas saw a big game from their guard Jason Clark. He had 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. And Otto Porter was close to picking up a double-double as he had 16 points and 8 rebounds.

The Bruins had a great day from their forward, Blake Jenkins. He scored 17 points, had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist. Even though Jenkins had an impressive day he wasn’t able to keep his team with the Hoyas.

Georgetown will now move on to play North Carolina State in the round of 32.
