Kentucky Wildcats Rumors: Two 5-star recruits to commit?

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kentucky Wildcats could land a big recruit with their first commitment of 2015.

There may not be a better recruiter in college basketball right now than John Calipari. Known for essentially rotating talent through his program in an era of one-and-done talent, Calipari routinely brings in top five classes.

All that makes it surprising that the Wildcats haven’t landed a top recruit in the 2015 class…..yet. Rumors have begun circulating that Skal Labissiere, ranked #7 overall in our rankings, will be committing to the Kentucky Wildcats tomorrow when he officially announces his decision.

"Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate School center Skal Labissiere is expected to announce for Kentucky on Thursday, with Baylor being the competition."

On top of that, Isaiah Briscoe, #11 in our rankings overall and the top point guard, could also be joining the Wildcats on Thursday, although his is less certain.

"The country’s No. 9 prospect and top-ranked point guard in Roselle (N.J.) Catholic point guard Isaiah Briscoe is also set to decide Thursday, choosing between the Wildcats and St. John’s."

In the middle of the early signing period, seeing only one recruit in Kentucky’s recruiting class is a bit odd. However, considering only a handful of top recruits have made their decision so far this year, the Wildcats and Calipari could still bring in a star-studded class.
