Duke Blue Devils: Semi Ojeleye to transfer

facebooktwitterreddit

The Duke Blue Devils’ sophomore forward Semi Ojeleye will transfer from the school per an email sent out by the school on Sunday afternoon.

Per the release:

"“We want to thank Semi and his family for their commitment to the Duke program for the last year and a half,” Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski said in the release. “He has been an excellent student and a great representative of our school and basketball program. He has been granted a full release and we definitely wish him the best.”"

Despite getting somewhat consistent minutes for the Blue Devils this year, Ojeleye clearly was unhappy with his situation. He has appeared in all but two of the Blue Devils eight games this year, scoring in four of them and averaging 10.5 minutes per game, 3.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.2 assists a game.

Ojeleye had the distinct honor of being the only member of the team that was not a McDonald’s All-American, instead finding himself as Parade’s Player of the Year in 2013.

Ojeleye will obviously look for a situation where he can get more playing time, something that would not have been a likely possibility while with the Blue Devils this year and going forward.

Where do you think Ojeleye will end up? Let us know down below!
