After an embarrassing midweek display against Saint Joe’s, what are the keys for UConn Basketball to bounce back against #15 Florida?

After a more than disappointing showing midweek for UConn Basketball against Saint Joe’s the Huskies will have to turn the page quickly in anticipation for Sunday afternoon’s matchup against #15 Florida. UConn looks to avoid falling to a 1-2 start to the season while the Gators were able to rebound on Thursday struggling to get past Towson however they still move to 2-1.

UConn came out flat in the first half against Saint Joes falling behind 14-0 taking almost five minutes to put some points up on the board. 54 points from Saint Joes in the first half highlights the embarrassing effort the Huskies had on the defensive end of the floor.

Florida wasn’t great midweek either, they were caught in a battle against Towson whom I’m sure the Gators thought would prove no match. Florida hasn’t looked very good in their last two games either and needs a win just as bad as UConn does. Blackshear is the guy to look out for on the Gators, he had his third straight double-double but struggled to get his 13 points.

This is the first matchup between UConn and Florida since that Shabazz Napier buzzer-beater back in 2013. If the game on Sunday is anywhere near as good as that one, basketball fans will be in for a treat. A lot has changed over the past six years for both programs.

Both teams are in desperate need of a win and Florida has the clear edge going into it, we’ll take a look at some things UConn needs to do if they want a chance of knocking off the nationally-ranked Florida Gators.
