Another week of NCAA basketball is complete and here comes the updated edition of the top-25 power rankings. Which teams made the cut?

The opening month of the 2019-20 NCAA basketball season is now complete and fans across the country have essentially only learned one thing: Trust. No. One. Although Ohio State and Louisville have both looked stronger than the rest of the country to begin this season, nobody appears to be a dominant force that cannot be stopped. We have already seen the likes of Duke and Kentucky drop uncharacteristic games but they are not alone in that category. Even though this season is still young, it already feels as though March will live up the Madness this season as everyone is vulnerable.

During this past week alone, there were several shifts in the national top-25 power rankings. The most notable movers, though, were Butler and North Carolina. For the Dawgs, wins over Ole Miss (away) and Florida (home) pushed them to 9-0 on the season with five high-major victories. They might have one of the top-5 resumes in the entire country at this moment and that warranted a jump in the rankings.

The Tar Heels, on the other hand, dropped their second and third games of the season this week while looking a bit disjointed. They are more talented than they have looked to this point, though, so there shouldn’t be too much panic in Chapel Hill.

Additionally, the battle at the top between Ohio State and Louisville continues to rage. Both teams have dominated their competition to this point, but the Buckeyes have played tougher teams while the Cardinals boasted higher preseason expectations. Both teams have legitimate arguments for the No. 1 spot and they seem to be a tier of their own right now, at least in my opinion.

Without any further ado, though, let’s dive into this week’s edition of the national top-25 power rankings.
