Pac-12 Basketball ended the 2019-20 season as one of the most improved conferences in the country, with almost half of the conference having NCAA tournament hopes. Here are a few offseason storylines that will impact the Pac-12 and the 2020-21 season.

Pac-12 Basketball teams entered the offseason after an abrupt end to their impressive 2019-20 season. The season was filled with important non-conference wins, upsets, buzzer-beaters, and winning streaks. The race for first place in the conference was tight and, at times, completely unpredictable.

Oregon came out on top of the regular season standings, while UCLA became one of the most feared teams in the conference, even after finding themselves in last place midway through conference play.

The Pac-12 has struggled to produce NCAA tournament teams over the years. However, the Pac-12 had a record season that ended with seven teams projected to make the NCCAA tournament in March. Of course, it’s hard to predict exactly how the Pac-12 tournament would have played out and how the respective Pac-12 teams would have fared in the tournament, but it’s clear that the Pac-12 saw a resurgence of talent and competitiveness.

Due to the current circumstances, there is a significant amount of uncertainty surrounding different aspects of the 2020-21 season, but it is certain that a few factors during the offseason will affect the success of Pac-12 next season.
