JN: I am going to go with the Arizona Wildcats. The Pac 12 is a much better conference than given credit to and Zona is a more consistent team than the others. I wouldn’t argue with about eight other teams, though.
BLW: I know it isn’t very creative to pick the top team in the polls as the best team in the country, but I think Arizona is the best team in the country. That does not mean they cannot be upset in the NCAA tournament, but I think the Wildcats are the most complete team at this point in the season. Arizona has already proven itself on the road in a few tough venues.
JM: It’s sorta tough to not pick Arizona here despite them not playing the toughest schedule in the nation. Few teams seem as well rounded as the Wildcats, they’re quick, they’re big, they can shoot, they can defend…they do everything at a high level and have experience in the backcourt with Nick Johnson and T.J. McConnell. I don’t even think we’ve seen their best yet, as Sean Miller teams tend to get stronger down the stretch of a season, and with the young players developing at an alarming pace for Miller’s ‘Cats, they’re as scary as anyone not in the Big Ten.
