DON’T GET CAUGHT LOOKING AHEAD

In 2009, UNC was riding high into the post season.  They had just beaten Duke in the last regular season game to all but lock up a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  Tyler Hansbrough, Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, and Danny Green had all returned to school for the purpose of winning it all.  They entered the ACC Tournament ranked #1 and ready to roll.

Instead of starting their championship quest and a match-up in the finals against rival Duke, Leonard Hamilton’s Florida State Seminoles stepped in and upset the Tar Heels in the semi-finals.  This loss generated a lot of discussion around whether or not Roy Williams cared about winning the ACC Tournament.

A notion Ol’ Roy did not like discussing.
