It is starting to get harder to put Pastner on these types of lists, but at only 36-years-of-age Pastner has proven to be one of the best recruiters in the entire country. However, it is not lost on me that his inability to have postseasons of consequence is a bit troubling.
With five full seasons now under his belt, though, Pastner has finally hit the stage of his career where he needs to start making some Sweet 16s. There’s only so many years we can say how great he is and is going to be before we need more tangible evidence other than him looking like a Osmond and a great ability to lure in top-tier recruits.
It is also worth noting that Pastner is a far better in-game coach than given credit. Considering his age, as time goes on he will only get better in that aspect of coaching as well.
