2014 NBA Mock Draft: An in-depth look at both rounds

33. Cleveland Cavaliers – C.J. Wilcox, SG, Washington

C.J. Wilcox is one of my personal favorites in this draft, as I think he’s amongst its best shooters, and with his size, I can see him being a decent starting two guard, but certainly a scorer off of the bench for the next ten years in the NBA.
Scouts sour on his inability to create offense for himself and others, but shooting is a transferable skill, and Wilcox measures as a top-five shooter in this draft. It’s fair to assume Wilcox doesn’t have a ton of room left to develop as a 23 year old prospect, but we’ve literally seen him improve his game every season at Washington, and as a smart player who can help space the floor, I don’t see him lasting too deep into the second round.
Playing with Kyrie Irving and Jabari Parker should get Wilcox plenty of open looks, and he’s the kind of player who will absolutely capitalize on them. — Jared
