Top 10 Current Rivalries in College Basketball

7. Georgetown-Villanova
The conference formerly known as the Big East is still clinging to life because of rivalries likes this. While Georgetown-Syracuse can’t make the list (at least until next season), G’Town and Villanova can.
This rivalry has it’s roots in the 1985 NCAA championship game when Villanova upset the Hoyas. More recently, the two sides have stayed competitive, with Big East title implications in many matches.
While conference realignment gutted the members of the Big East, this rivalry has stayed alive. And while last season saw Nova win both games, Georgetown brought in a top 10 recruiting class that will surely level the playing field once again.
