Stats: 16.3 points, 4.9 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 45% FG, 43.2% 3-point
Coming in second on our list is a feisty little point guard out of Bloomington in Kevin Ferrell, better known as Yogi. Ferrell is second on the Hoosiers in scoring, just 0.3 points behind Blackmon, but is the unquestionable leader.
In terms of playing up to the moment, few do it better than Ferrell. Example one came in the Hoosiers’ first loss of the season against Eastern Washington where Ferrell gave Indiana a chance late thanks to his 27 points. Example two came in Bankers Life Fieldhouse against the Butler Bulldogs when Ferrell scored all 20 of his points in the second half to lift the Hoosiers to a victory. Lastly and most recently, Ferrell buried two three-pointers late in regulation to force overtime in an eventual loss to to Georgetown, a game he finished with 27 points.
Ferrell, one of the few upperclassmen on a relatively young Hoosier squad, has proven himself one of the Big Ten’s elite guards.
