Busting Bracketology – 16th seed, West Region
The Jaspers of Manhattan fended off their rivals in the Iona Gaels to take home the MAAC conference title. The win marked their first win over a top 100 RPI team compared to five losses, which should tell you all you need to know about this team.

Cinderella stories are fun and all, but as it stands, Manhattan will likely be a 16-seed who will be in a play-in game in Dayton on Tuesday. I can try to give you a stat that would lead you to believe this team has a chance if they make it up against a one-seed or two-seed, but who am I fooling. The positive is that they will have a realistic shot at winning a first-round tournament game (and only the NCAA would call it the first-round. It’s the play-in game).
The negatives are the buzzsaw that they’ll run into next. But hey, they’re going dancing for the second straight year, so there’s that at least.
