Boston Celtics Take A Point Guard At No.17 Instead Of A Shooter?

It is not like the Celtics did not get a shooter before the draft was all said and done because they ended up selecting R.J. Hunter out of Georgia State with the 28th pick of the draft.

The thing about the selection of Terry Rozier at No.17 was that the Celtics are not in need of a point guard since they took Marcus Smart last season in the draft.

Also there were plenty of shooters still on the board at that pick. Sam Dekker was still available at the time which would have been a perfect fit for the Boston Celtics at the time. Delon Wright out of Utah and Rashad Vaughn out of UNLV were also still available.

The Celtics deciding to draft Terry Rozier is a head scratcher because they already have a point guard in training with Marcus Smart, while also having Isaiah Thomas on the roster who they got in a trade last season.

If you are looking for any comfort in this pick it is that Danny Ainge usually has a method to his madness.

Even though the pick looks strange there is a good chance that he is looking to make a move that no one is expecting.

Plus Brad Stevens may have a plan up his sleeve when it comes to how to utilize someone like Rozier.

He might fit better than we realize, but for now you have to scratch your noggin.
