How Come Marcus Paige Steps His Game Up For Top Point Guards?

Marcus Paige is showing that when he is involved in a marquee matchup like he was tonight against Xavier Rathan-Mayes, or when he was against Maryland’s Melo Trimble in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, that he is going to bring his “A” game.

Against Rathan-Mayes, Marcus Paige made sure that he was not outclassed by the Seminoles’ sophomore point guard by bringing 30 points of his own.

There is no way that Marcus Paige was going to let Xavier Rathan-Mayes get the best of him in this matchup when it was all said and done.

Paige is a competitor and plays with the swagger and thinking that he is the best point guard in the nation.

He would be in the running for “National Player of the Year” if he did not get hurt early in the season.

Marcus Paige still can be the man who takes home “ACC Player of the Year” if he continues his stellar play and the Tar Heels continue to handle business.
