14. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The Scarlet Knights play the night game against Nebraska on Wednesday. Earlier match-ups, like all of the season, have not fared well. The Scarlet Knights lost at home to Nebraska 90-56 on January 9th and 87-63 at Nebraska on February 6th.

While it may not be as lop-sided as previous meetings, the Scarlet Knight’s trip to Indianapolis will be very short. Expect them to go home to conclude an absolute dismal season under third-year head coach Eddie Jordan.

One has to wonder how long Jordan will continue down this road. An NBA veteran and Rutgers alum, Jordan was brought in to fix the Rutgers program and bring them up to Big Ten standards. He has failed at both so far. The 2015-16 version of the Scarlet Knights were possibly the worst team in all of the Power 5 conferences.

Youth remains an issue, with four underclassmen averaging at least over 24 minutes a game, but for how long is that the excuse?

Rutgers will bow out quickly in this year’s tournament, probably by double digits. The off-season will bring intensified questions on where this program is going, but perhaps more questions on how it can be fixed.
