15. 1982-83 Virginia Cavaliers

They say defense wins championships, but a common theme emerges across this list. These National Championship teams have strong offenses with a mediocre defense. This is no different for the Cavaliers.

Ralph Sampson led this team to victory averaging 19 points and just under 12 boards a game. They had a balanced attack with seven players averaging over six points a contest. The Cavs had a big roster using their length to score at will in the paint.

A familiar name in Rick Carlisle, now the Dallas Mavericks head coach, clearly has had success in the NBA, as did Ralph Sampson.
