Point guard: Kamau Stokes

There are a few options at point guard, but sophomore Kamau Stokes seems to be the likely candidate right now. He was Kansas State’s best distributing guard and three point shooter a year ago. His development will be huge if the team wants compete against multiple NBA-ready Big 12 floor generals.

The 6’0″ guard averaged 9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steals a game last year. He shot a sub par 34 percent from deep and 36 percent overall. He was one of the least efficient players to see regular time, though he missed the last two months of the year with a knee injury.

If he starts, it will be important to see if his injury has affected his defense at all. His scoring will likely be secondary to improved assist numbers and a steady presence on the ball.

He is one of three important sophomores on this roster.
