Center: Elijah Macon

Devin Williams’ sudden departure to the professional ranks created a major gap in the middle of the offense. The double-double threat wasn’t a rim protector, but he had the tenacity to do all the little things right every evening.

More from West Virginia Mountaineers

Junior Elijah Macon is another contender for big production.

At 6’9″, 240 pounds, Macon is the biggest body on the roster with experience exclusively in the front court.

4.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game were Macon’s sophomore numbers. He also shot 53 percent from the field without attempting a three. This makes him the most efficient returning player that is used to playing right next the hoop on every possession.

Macon has never averaged more than 13 minutes a game in his previous two years, but a jump in production, similar to that of Esa Ahmed, is possible this season.
