Backup center: Brandon Watkins

I don’t expect a lot out of the senior Brandon Watkins, but someone will be needed to rotate in at center. The Georgia native has seen his minutes decrease every year in Morgantown, but unless more freshman are ready to go, Watkins is the most experienced backup.

The 6’9″, 245 pound forward averaged just 0.6 points and 1.0 rebounds in five minutes a game last year. His biggest performance was a six point, six rebound effort against Kennesaw State. Otherwise he was a spare part on the bench through Big 12 play.

His leadership is still a nice asset, but don’t expect Watkins to put up more than 1-3 points and 1-2 rebounds an evening behind the other, more talented players.
