SEC

Lead-Pipe Lock:

Some Perspiration: Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas

Better Double-Up on the Deodorant: South Carolina, Georgia

Kentucky Wildcats, 14-2 (4-0): Despite receiving a scare on the road against Vanderbilt, Kentucky once again came out on top. They tout a few impressive wins, but then again, they are Kentucky. The Wildcats are going to sit atop the SEC for the entire season and are going to be in competition for a one seed at the end of the year.

Quality wins: vs. North Carolina, vs. Valparaiso, vs. Michigan State, vs. Arkansas

Bad losses: none.

Missed opportunities: @ Louisville, vs. UCLA

Up next: vs. Auburn (1/14), @ Mississippi State (1/17)

Florida Gators, 13-3 (4-0): With their destruction of Alabama, Florida improved to 4-0 in the SEC. With all three of their losses coming to top-10 teams, the Gators have one of the best strength of schedules in the country. With no bad losses, Florida finds themselves as a five seed.

Quality wins: vs. Seton Hall, vs. Miami, @ Arkansas

Bad losses: none.

Missed opportunities: vs. Gonzaga, vs. Duke, @ Florida State

Up next: vs. Georgia (1/14), @ South Carolina (1/18)

Arkansas Razorbacks, 12-4 (1-3): Now 1-3 in conference play, Arkansas is not off to their best start. Still, two of their three losses came against Florida and Kentucky, both top teams. On the other hand, falling to Mississippi State at home has to be a tough one to swallow.

Quality wins: vs. UT-Arlington

Bad losses: vs. Mississippi State

Missed opportunities: @ Minnesota, vs. Florida, @ Kentucky

Up next: vs. Missouri (1/14), @ Texas A&M (1/17)

South Carolina Gamecocks, 12-3 (2-0): South Carolina does not have any great wins, but they have a couple quality ones, which might be enough. Seton Hall, Clemson, and Memphis are all solid teams, making those losses look a little more reasonable. There are also many wins out there to be had in a pretty weak SEC.

Quality wins: vs. Michigan, @ Georgia

Bad losses:

Missed opportunities: vs. Seton Hall, vs. Clemson, @ Memphis

Up next: @ Tennessee (1/11), vs. Ole Miss (1/14)

Georgia Bulldogs, 10-5 (2-1): Without any good wins and a bad loss to Oakland, Georgia is not the most ideal candidate for an at-large bid, but their SOS can hold them up. Their losses are mostly reasonable, even if the Bulldogs were unable to pull any of them out in the end. Georgia’s major issue now is convincing the committee that they are capable of winning big games.

Quality wins: none.

Bad losses: @ Oakland

Missed opportunities: @ Clemson, vs. Kansas, vs. Marquette, vs. South Carolina

Up next: @ Ole Miss (1/11), @ Florida (1/14)
