Lead-Pipe Lock: None.

Some Perspiration: Dayton, VCU

Better Double-Up on the Deodorant: Rhode Island

Dayton Flyers, 15-4 (6-1): Aside from their loss to Massachusetts, the Flyers have won eight of their last nine games. Two losses to potential tournament teams is not a problem, but their lack of quality wins is a problem. Two games against VCU and a road date with Rhody are their best two battles from here on out. They are currently an eight seed.

Quality wins: vs. Rhode Island

Bad losses: vs. Nebraska, @ Massachusetts

Missed opportunities: vs. Saint Mary’s, vs. Northwestern

Up next: @ VCU (1/27), @ Fordham (1/31)

VCU Rams, 15-5 (5-2): As the only other A-10 team in the projected field right now, VCU’s win over Middle Tennessee is starting to look better and better. Nonetheless, they are running out of opportunities to bolster their resume. With Dayton coming to town in a few days, it’s time to take advantage.

Quality wins: vs. Middle Tennessee

Bad losses: vs. Georgia Tech, @ Davidson, @ Fordham

Missed opportunities: vs. Baylor, vs. Illinois

Up next: vs. Dayton (1/27), vs. Richmond (2/1)

Rhode Island Rams, 12-6 (4-2): With a 1-4 record against the RPI 50-100, things aren’t looking great for Rhode Island. They are currently the fifth team OUT of the tournament, but that doesn’t mean they can’t work their way back in. 12-6 is a respectable record, although there is room for improvement.

Quality wins: vs. Cincinnati

Bad losses: vs. La Salle

Missed opportunities: vs. Duke, vs. Providence, @ Houston, @ Dayton

Up next: @ Richmond (1/25), vs. St. Bonaventure (1/28)
