7. Kansas Jayhawks

Previous Ranking: 5

Record: 21-3 (9-2 Big 12)

Kansas bounced back from a stunning home loss to Iowa State with a close win over rival Kansas State. The team will try and remain atop the Big 12 standings when it travels to Texas Tech on Saturday.

There might not be a more important player than Frank Mason II this year. The senior guard scored 32 against the Cyclones and 21 over the Wildcats. He is, by far, one of the most consistent and dynamic threats every night, but might get fatigued averaging nearly 36 minutes a game this season. Off court issues still hang over the team, but Carlton Bragg Jr. came off of a suspension to contribute six points over KSU. Kansas is still the team to beat in the Big 12.
