16-0 in conference play has its perks, but one thing that is certain in college basketball is that nothing ever goes to plan.

Vermont will be heavily favored to win the American East tournament, but a loss could be the difference between a trip to the 2017 NCAA Tournament and disappointing trip to the NIT. With their only bad loss coming to the Northeastern Huskies, Vermont looks like a team that would be able to do some damage in the Big Dance – but does the Selection Committee feel the same?
