Lead-Pipe Lock: Dayton

Some Perspiration: VCU

Better Double-Up on the Deodorant: Rhode Island

VCU Rams, 23-6 (13-3): One more win and you’re in. That simple. It doesn’t matter who it comes against, but the Rams just need one more win. We locked up their counterpart in Dayton, but VCU does hold the lead in the season series before their second match-up. If VCU can make that a sweep and finish the year with a win over George Mason, the Rams could be climbing up towards the six or seven lines.

Record vs. RPI top-50: 2-2          Record vs. RPI 50-100: 5-2

Monday seed: 8     RPI: 23    SOS: 71

Bad losses: at Davidson, at Fordham

Remaining schedule: at Dayton (3/1), vs. George Mason (3/4)

Rhode Island Rams, 19-9 (11-5): Knocking off VCU since our last bubble update was absolutely huge. With that, they moved into the projected tournament field, even if it as the last team in. They are now playing from the front, and if the Rams can keep winning the games they are supposed to, they will make the tournament. For Rhody to feel confident in making the NCAA Tournament, winning the next two and then making the A-10 conference championship game would do the trick.

Record vs. RPI top-50: 2-3          Record vs. RPI 50-100: 2-4

Monday seed: 12     RPI: 44    SOS: 55

Bad losses: at Valparaiso, at Richmond, vs. La Salle, vs. Fordham

Remaining schedule: at Saint Joseph’s (3/1), vs. Davidson (3/4)
