3. Przemek Karnowski: Chasing the NCAA Basketball Wins Record

With all the hype over Gonzaga’s undefeated record and the play of Nigel Williams-Goss, one storyline went seemingly unnoticed. Sitting at 129 wins in his playing career, center Przemek Karnowski is closing in on the NCAA’s official wins record.

Currently held by former Duke Blue Devil Shane Battier, the current record stands at 133 wins. If the Zags win the WCC Tournament, Karnowski would pull one victory shy of Battier.

By winning the tournament, Karnowski would find himself a Sweet Sixteen appearance away from becoming NCAA Basketball’s all-time winningest player. With a projected 1- or 2-seed, the Zags would need to endure a big upset for Karnowski to be denied this honor.

Although top teams always endure surprising upsets in March, Karnowski is likely to reach 134, and may extend the record even further. In fact, by winning the National Championship, Karnowski would tie the unofficial record of 138 wins. This record is shared by former Memphis Tigers Robert Dozier and Antonio Anderson; however, the NCAA vacated 38 wins.

We wish Przemek Karnowski luck as he pursues NCAA Basketball history.
