2. Nigel Williams-Goss’ Stardom and Maturity

The college basketball postseason is where college stars have the opportunity to become legends. Players like Anthony Davis and Kemba Walker were able to sustain their legacy with outstanding performances in March.

Nigel Williams-Goss could be that player for the Zags. The junior guard has been the Bulldogs best player, and the reason for many of their dominant wins. He led Gonzaga in points, assists, and steals; answering every challenge the Zags faced will clutch shots and great leadership.

Leading Gonzaga to a 17-1 record, Williams-Goss earned the WCC’s Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year awards.

Just like the reputation and public perception of his team, Williams-Goss’ success in March is all people will remember. Fair or not, a poor showing in March will serve to validate the opinions of ever Gonzaga doubter.

Will Williams-Goss excel, or will he shrink under the pressure? The WCC Tournament will be the first opportunity for him to show what he is made of. With the chips down and the season on the line, Gonzaga will need their star player to perform well in order to achieve their expectations.
