There is a solid foundation in Manhattan, if all the players stick around. Stokes, Brown, Wade, and Sneed are all fine guys that are just young. The potential is there if they decide to hang around together. There is also plenty of help waiting in the wings.

Maurice stands 6’10” and has shown a couple flashes this season. He notably scored 11 points in nine minutes in a blowout loss at Oklahoma. He, along with James Love III and incoming freshmen Nigel Shad and Levi Stockard, will help Wade in the front court. Love missed the entire season with a foot injury, and both Shadd and Stockard are three-star recruits.

Patrick could slide into a bigger role, but look for former three-star guard Cartier Diarra to get in the mix as well. The 6’4″ combo guard missed the entire season with a knee injury suffered in July. He will add depth and talent to a guard corps already brimming with potential. Mike McGuirl from Connecticut also joins the program as a depth piece.

The Wildcats have two open scholarships left for next year assuming this current roster stays intact. The wildcard is Coach Weber’s coaching seat, which is very warm going into the Big 12 tournament and selection Sunday. The entire roster situation hinges on his retention or dismissal.
