Bob Huggins, West Virginia Mountaineers

Bob Huggins probably does not get the credit that he is due. Huggins has been in this business a long time and has done an incredible job at every stop, just look at what he has done at West Virginia. But for some reason, it does not seem that he is revered as a coach, granted some of it is his own doing.

Huggins’ teams will play in your face defense the whole 94 feet of the court. His goal is not only to disrupt opponents offense but to force turnovers and get steals that lead to easy transition buckets. He also preaches taking care of the ball to his team as well as hitting the offensive boards aggressively.

Huggins and the Mountaineers are in the Sweet 16 for the second time in three years and fourth time overall. The 63-year old Morgantown native has led the Mountaineers past the regional semifinal just once when they reached the Final Four in 2009-10. He owns a 227-117 record at WVU with eight NCAA tournament trips.

Prior to  Huggins coming back home, he spent a year at Kansas State after several successful seasons at Cincinnati. Overall, Huggins has an 813-327 career record.
