CSU has gone 25-69 over the last three years, including 19-29 in the MEAC. Nine wins is the most they have accumulated over this recent three-year stretch.

17. Florida A&M Rattlers

Florida A&M went to the NCAA Tournament three times during an eight year stretch (1999-2007) but they haven’t been back since. The Rattlers are coming off a three-year period where they compiled a 17-71 record, including 11-37 during MEAC play.

16. Grambling State Tigers

Grambling State decided not renew head coach Sean Walker’s contract despite the fact that the Tigers went 16-17 and reached SWAC semifinals in 2016-17. The Tigers totaled a 25-63 record in Walker’s three year reign. Grambling State has never been to NCAA Tournament and has only once been to the NIT once (1980).

15. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats

Bethune-Cookman has never participated in the NCAA Tournament as a Division I member. The Wildcats only D-I postseason appearance is a NIT berth in 2011.

Bethune-Cookman has had one winning season in the past six years. The Wildcats have twice finished with a winning record in MEAC play during this stretch. They finished with a 10-22 record, including 6-10 in the MEAC in 2017.

14.  Youngstown State Penguins

Youngstown State has one postseason appearance since moving up to Division I in 1981. The Penguins participated in the CIT in 2013 but have gone just 58-78 overall and 19-49 in the Horizon League since. YSU went 11-20 and 5-13 in conference play in 2016-17.

Update: YSU named Jerrod Calhoun as its 13th head coach on March 28. Calhoun spent the past five seasons at Fairmont State, leading the Mountaineers to the NCAA D-II national championship game this past season.

13. Austin Peay Governors

Austin Peay is in the market for a head coach as the result of Dave Loos’ retirement. The Governors experienced quite a bit of success under Loos, going 402-392 including 244-177 in the OVC.

Austin Peay has won five Ohio Valley Conference regular season crowns and made the NCAA Tournament five times. The Governors earned an NCAA Tournament berth in 2016, though, they struggled to a 11-19 finish in 2017.
