5. Texas – Won 77 – 58

While it was early in the season and Texas ended up being disappointing overall, the Wildcats dominated a big name program and showed they were legit. They beat the Longhorns by 19 and beat their first ranked team of the season.

Northwestern flirted with making the NCAA Tournament in the last few years and this helped grab the nation’s attention. Four Wildcats finished in double figures for points and Dererk Pardon recorded a double-double. Bryant McIntosh scored 20 points for the Wildcats and dished out a team-high five assists.
