3. Gonzaga – Lost 79 – 73

This would have been the perfect comeback story, but the Wildcats’ Cinderella run was cut short. Chris Collins earned a technical foul after the referees missed a goaltending call and would swing the momentum in the Bulldogs favor. The Wildcats were trailing by five points and should have cut the deficit to three with the two points from the goal tend.

Instead, Nigel Williams-Goss made two free throws to put Gonzaga up by seven points to extend the Bulldog lead. Gonzaga went on to win by six and even though the NCAA acknowledged the missed call, the near comeback by the Wildcats against the No. 1 seed is impressive.

It may not have been the final factor in the Wildcats loss, but it had a big impact, to say the least.
