Moritz Wagner scored 26 points and completed a comeback to send the Wolverines to the Sweet 16. They trailed in the game for nearly 30 minutes and did not grab the lead until halfway through the second half. The two teams were tied for about two minutes in the first half.

The Wolverines trailed by eight at halftime and were down by nine twice in the second half. They kept their cool and sealed the deal with 4-of-4 free throws and a layup in the last 30 seconds. The victory gave the No. 7 seed another trip to the Sweet 16 to face Oregon.
