Illinois Fighting Illini at Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Prior history in the event: Illinois is 8-10, Wake Forest is 11-5

History against each other: The series is tied 1-1. Illinois won the last meeting 91-73 in 2004.

Maybe not the best matchup on paper, but Illinois and Wake Forest are two closely matched teams that could be an interesting game in regards to being a turning point in the challenge. Wake Forest will be without John Collins, who went to the NBA, and they will need to find a new identity. Illinois, on the other hand, is looking to return to their years of prominence in the Big Ten.
