Blake Harris

From Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Blake Harris played his high school basketball at the Word of God Christian Academy but finds himself headed to Missouri after a huge variety of schools attempted to recruit him.

A 6’3, 190-pound point guard, Harris is going to have a field day in this Tigers’ squad as they transition from the Kim Anderson era to the Cuonzo Martin one.

Most people believed that Harris was headed to Michigan State before his initial commitment to the Washington Huskies, but when a certain someone – AKA the No. 1 recruit in college basketball  Michael Porter – chooses to change schools, it is no surprise that others like Harris follow.

A consensus four-star recruit by nearly all recruiting websites, 247 Sports has Harris rated as the No. 27 point guard in the Class of 2017. While that is a fairly accurate ranking, I still think Harris has the potential to be one of the better point guards in this class with a little bit of experience.

Harris will likely take a back seat to his exceptionally talented teammate this season but should start and receive plenty of playing time. While I expect Harris to stay at least two years with the Tigers — especially now that Jontay Porter is on his way to Missouri in 2018 — it would not surprise me if he followed Porter into the NBA Draft.
