Top 100 Recruits

LSU will bring in two ESPN Top 100 recruits heading into the 2017-18 college basketball season, both of whom should make immediate impacts.

Galen Alexander

A four-star small forward out of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Galen Alexander could be the future face of LSU basketball.

Barring some crazy 30 point per game season, he should remain in college for the next two to three years and be one of the better scorers on the team. He is rated as the No. 3 player out of the state of Louisiana by 247 Sports, as well as the No. 18 small forward and No. 77 overall player by ESPN.

Alexander is not as highly rated as his ESPN Top 100 teammate (below), but his skill set is desperately needed on a rebuilding LSU team with a new head coach in Will Wade.

Tremont Waters

The LSU Tigers need help all over the court, but one player who should immediately find success in the lineup will be four-star recruit Tremont Waters.

Waters, a point guard out of New Haven, Connecticut, was rated the No. 32 prospect in the ESPN 100 coming out of Notre Dame High School. He was also rated the No. 10 point guard in the country by 247 Sports and No. 37 player overall by Rivals.

The 5’11, 160-pound freshman should bring an immediate spark to a team that struggled so badly last season and begin to pull the strings for this team extremely early on. In fact, it would not be a surprise to me if he started every game this season and became the first go-to player of the Will Wade era in Baton Rouge.
