Outlook

Will Wade is a phenomenal coach and one who had tremendous success with much less talent. I attended many games of his when he coached the Chattanooga Mocs and, like Matt McCall, keep an eye on his career wherever he goes.

The Tigers are going to struggle this season. The SEC has too many good teams and great coaches. Possibly nine SEC teams have a legitimate shot at making the 2018 NCAA Tournament, and LSU does not look to be one of those teams.

However, this strong recruiting class from Wade is a step in the right direction, and players like Alexander and Waters will harass the SEC for years to come. Throw in the fact that LSU already has 6’4, 290-pound Javonte Smart – the No. 6 point guard according to ESPN and a four-star recruit – committed for the 2018 season, and it is clear that the Tigers are headed on the right path.

Next: Missouri also boasts phenomenal 2017 class

Don’t worry, LSU fans. This season might not be great. In fact, you could be one of the worst teams in the SEC once again, but things are looking far better than they were last season. The Tigers will see flashes of future greatness this season – just be patient.
