7) Pacific Tigers
Pacific may be the most difficult team to place, as they only return two significant players from last year’s disappointing team. With Jack Williams and Anthony Townes remaining in the front court for the Tigers, Head Coach Damon Stoudemire has filled his roster with transfers and recruits. Transfers Miles Reynolds and Kendall Small join freshman Lafayette Dorsey to form a backcourt that could be strong if it all comes together.
6) San Diego Toreros
Starring junior guard Olin Carter, the Toreros are not an easy out in the WCC. Seniors Cameron Neubauer and Isaiah Pineiro, as well as sophomore Juwan Gray, will make up an undersized frontcourt for San Diego, which will be extremely evident when facing the larger teams at the top of the conference. Sophomore Juwan Gray is set up for a breakout season as an athletic wing with strong work on the boards.
5) Santa Clara Broncos
Despite the loss of Jared Brownridge, Santa Clara is still set up to be competitive in the WCC. Star guard KJ Feagin might be the best player in the conference that is not on Gonzaga or Saint Mary’s. Joining Feagin, Matt Hauser and Princeton transfer Henry Caruso will be solid pieces for a Broncos team that aims to finish in the top half of the WCC.
