Overseas

The easiest option for Mitchell Robinson after leaving Western Kentucky would not be for him to transfer but instead for him to play overseas for a year.

He is clearly built for the NBA, and NBA teams will want him. So why go sit for a season with a college team and risk letting his draft stock suffer instead of going to play overseas where he earns money and shows scouts what he can do against other professional basketball players?

From most of the reports coming out of this situation, it looks far more likely that Robinson decides to go to a university somewhere, but you know that, as we edge closer to the college basketball season, it would have to feel like a much simpler solution to sign with a foreign team, make money, and leave all of this behind him as the media focuses its attention on college basketball and not those playing overseas until the NBA Draft.

Someone like Mitchell who has been the focal point of basketball attention for years as a five-star recruit has to be wary of not playing competitive basketball for a whole season, and the decision to play overseas could be extremely tempting.
