PF Nathan Reuvers – Lakeville, MN

The lone top-100 recruit for Wisconsin’s class of 2017, Reuvers is a smooth-shooting big man with defensive upside. At 6’10”, Reuvers is expected to be an important part of the future frontcourt for Wisconsin. With very good shot-blocking instincts, he could be a solid rim-protecting forward once he reaches the collegiate level. His size is certainly an advantage, especially if he is allowed to play power forward, which is his natural position. Although a very solid finisher around the rim, Reuvers also has the ability to stretch the floor from the three-point range.

With redshirt junior Ethan Happ as the lead man in the frontcourt in Madison this upcoming season, Reuvers most likely won’t see too much playing time. In addition to Happ, Andy Van Vliet, Alex Illikainen, and Charlie Thomas are expected to see time on the floor early in the season. The Badgers frontcourt will be tough to find minutes in, but maybe Reuvers can break through or develop under Happ before sliding next to him during the 2018-19 season. The highest-ranked recruit in this class, Reuvers’ ability to step out behind the arc should complement Happ’s interior game well as they work together in the frontcourt over the next couple of seasons.
