Virginia Cavaliers

Tony Bennett seemingly always has the Cavaliers in contention to get a top seed in the NCAA Tournament.  His teams really like to slow the game way down and control the possessions. The thing that makes the Cavaliers so hard to play is the fact that if the game does start to get high scoring, Virginia is able to get out and run with you as well.

Francesco Badocchi: The Italian Wing by way of Kansas City, Francesco is known as the Human Pogo Stick.  He can really jump and can fly high through traffic.  Cavalier fans should get their cameras ready as I am sure Badocchi will put some players on a poster.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies finally got back to the tournament last year.  Buzz Williams really had his team playing well all year and this team had some big wins in and out of conference play.  With the recruiting class that the Hokies have coming in, they should find success of the floor again.

Wabissa Bede: In 2016, Wabissa really put himself on the map by playing for one of the best AAU teams in the country in Mass Rivals.  Bede is a tough defender from the point guard position.  He has long arms and quick feet, and he should be able to get into passing lanes early and often.  He is not a great shooter but can score with a nice floater when he does get into the paint.  If he continues to improve, he could be one of the best point guards in the ACC in the years to come.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

In 2016, Wake Forest surprised many by making the NCAA Tournament. Last year’s team was led by one of the best centers in the country in John Collins, who is now in the NBA.  Danny Manning looks to keep creating miracles on the basketball court with Wake Forest with a return trip to the NCAA tourney.  It would be the first back-to-back tournament appearances for Wake Forest since the Chris Paul era.

Chaundee Brown: Chaundee is an aggressive scorer, as he can score from all areas on the floor and is always looking to score.  He has an improving 3-point shot and has a knack for finishing at the rim and through contact.

The ACC will once again be extremely competitive this season, with several teams hoping to follow in North Carolina’s footsteps as the National Champions. Recruiting is where everything gets started, and each of the recruits mentioned here will likely have a major impact on their individual teams.
