NCAA Basketball: How Marvin Bagley’s commitment affects recruiting rankings
4. UCLA Bruins
UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class consists of six players, including two 2017 McDonald’s All-Americans. An argument can be made whether Jaylen Hands or Kris Wilkes is the better prospect. Regardless of which player is a better at this point, both possess huge upside. Hands, a 6’3″ point guard, is very quick and a tremendous passer while Wilkes is a scoring wing.
Four-star recruits Jalen Hill and Cody Riley both should see time in the Bruins front court. Both are rated among the top-12 freshmen among their positions — Hill as a center and Riley as a power forward.
6-foot-9 wing Chris Smith, a three-plus star recruit, brings versatility and slashing ability. Three-star LaMelo Ball rounds out the class as the one likely to make the most headlines thanks to his family.
