Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders – Conference USA

In the past few seasons, Middle Tennessee has been one of the best mid-majors in the entire country. People certainly will remember when the Raiders took down #2 seed Michigan State and Denzel Valentine just a couple of years ago. After that upset, the Blue Raiders returned in 2016-17 with an extremely successful campaign.

Under head coach Kermit Davis, the team went 31-5 last season and made the second round in the NCAA Tournament once again. In the first round, Middle Tennessee took down #5 seed Minnesota before losing to #4 seed Butler, another team in this tournament.

In the Conference-USA, Middle Tennessee has either won the conference tournament or the regular season title in three of their four seasons. At this point, it is unclear who will be the leader for Middle Tennessee during the 2018-19 season given the team will be without Giddy Potts. Someone will step up, but we are yet to see who that will be.
