Schedule Overview

Nebraska gets the gauntlet of the Big Ten right out of the gate with Minnesota and Michigan State right away in December. The Huskers also host Kansas, play at Creighton, host Boston College, and go to St. Johns. The Huskers are also part of the AdvoCare Invitational this year over the holiday season. Their schedule is tough and Nebraska has once again set their schedule to be very RPI friendly, so 18 wins should get them in the tournament again. Since the Big Ten has unbalanced schedules, meaning not every team plays each team twice, the Huskers home-and-home plays are Minnesota, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Penn State. All things considered, Nebraska actually got some pretty favorable matchups. The Huskers should be able to navigate through their double plays with a winning record.

Conference Finish

If everyone stays healthy and Nebraska wins the games they are supposed to win, Nebraska could go 9-9 and finish in the middle tier of the Big Ten. If they do that, they should be dancing in the NCAA Tournament. If Nebraska has another miserable year like last year the Huskers could be welcoming a new coach to town come 2018. Nebraska has a great chance to play in the NIT — and if they can navigate through the loaded part of their schedule they may have a small chance at the NCAA Tournament.
