Ivy League Basketball: 2017-18 stars on each team in the conference
Dartmouth Big Green – Evan Boudreaux
Due to the tie breakers, technically Dartmouth was the worst team in the Ivy League last season. This was a relatively young team, with their best players all being underclassmen.
One of those young players was Evan Boudreaux, who exploded into a First Team All-Conference stud after 17.5 points and 9.6 rebounds a night. At 6’8 and 220 pounds he led the league in rebounding and finished second to Matt Morgan in scoring.
Despite the incredible play of Boudreaux, the Big Green struggled. Part of that was due to the youth of the roster, which showed during the final minutes of games. This season as a whole served as a learning experience for everyone in how to win games, which should help for next season.
Besides Boudreaux, the other top scorers will be returning as well for Dartmouth. Fellow junior Guilien Smith will look to improve from his 12 points per game average and become another go-to scorer for the team. Senior guard Miles Wright (9.6 ppg) will have one last season to bring his school into the upper echelon of the conference.
Of the bottom four schools who struggled this season, Dartmouth will have the best shot of reaching the top four. If that feat occurs, then it’s likely that Boudreaux can become the conference Player of the Year.
