Starting Lineup

Marcus Carr

A four-star recruit, Carr surprised some by keeping his commitment to Pittsburgh amidst the turmoil. His reward will likely be immediate playing time in the best basketball conference. While Carr will display his abilities, the lack of talent around him will be an issue with his development.

Jonathan Milligan

Milligan will have a great shot of starting this year considering he was in the system the last two seasons. Coming from junior college, he averaged over 12 points per game, with his style of play being more of a slasher than a shooter. The combo guard will try to form a stable backcourt with Carr.

Monty Boykins

Originally from Lafayette in the Patriot League, Boykins missed all of last season due to an injury. He averaged 10.7 ppg and elected to become a graduate transfer. The question will be whether the ACC is too big a jump in talent for him.

Ryan Luther

A “glue man” of sorts, Luther was also one of the few players off the bench to receive any playing time last season. While his skills leave him suited as a role player, the departures will require him to play as well as possible.

Rene Chuwuka

This junior college transfer brings good size to a team who doesn’t have much. The 6’10” big will have plenty of playing time and will get the ultimate education from the bigs from the ACC. Chuwuka could be in for a rough time, but if he plays well, he could be a huge part of Pitt’s team.
