Season outlook

Villanova is one of the top programs in the country and they will prove that once again this season. With some stellar junior leaders on the roster, this team has the experience to make a big run in the NCAA Tournament. The ridiculous thing about this team is that so much will return for the 2018-19 season as well, which could be even better for Coach Wright.

For this season, though, it looks like Villanova will be able to capture the Big East conference title once again while remaining one of the top 10-15 teams in the entire country. Taking a stellar record along with a solid nonconference schedule and a dominating performance in one of the top conferences in the nation, Villanova could be in contention for  #1 seed again this season.

In the end, I think Villanova will fall between a #1 and a #3 seed during the 2017-18 season while Jalen Brunson emerges as one of the lead candidates to take home the Big East Player of the Year award. In order for this to happen, Booth will need to return strong from injury, Spellman will need to live up to the hype around him, and the depth will need to develop quickly.

Watch out for Donte DiVincenzo to put some highlights on your TV screen from either the starting lineup or the bench this season. Good luck finding a late-game closing lineup, Coach Wright.

Next: Preseason Big East predictions

Villanova basketball is exciting to watch and has a chance to make a big run this season. Will this roster follow in the footsteps of the 2015-16 team or will they fall early in the Big Dance? We will have to wait to find out and anything can happen in college basketball.
